Dr. Nick Gatzke

My name is Nick Gatzke and I serve as the Senior Pastor of Old North Church. My primary responsibilities include preaching and teaching the Bible, vision casting, leading our staff team, and working with our elders in providing leadership, oversight and spiritual care for the church. My greatest joy in ministry is seeing how God changes lives through the preaching of the Scriptures. I am married to Amy, and we have three young children: Alexa, Noelle and Carsten. In my spare time, I love good conversations with friends, laughing, good books, golf, hiking, fishing and chasing my kids around. Our journey in ministry has taken us many places, and I have been blessed to serve as the former Senior Pastor of Osterville Baptist Church in Cape Cod, MA and previously to receive my education and training at Moody Bible Institute (B.A.), Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (M.Div.) and the London School of Theology (PhD). Some of my favorite things about our church are how the core values of healthy children and healthy families, personal and intentional discipleship, and biblical preaching and teaching are lived out in a group of people who truly care about God and each other and have lots of fun while pursuing growth in their relationships with God. As such, many share in the joy and pain, successes and failure of those around them as they “do life” together and grow in a community together. We invite you to join us! Hello! My name is Chris Drombetta, and I have the joy of serving as the Executive Pastor at Old North Church. My responsibilities include leading the church’s daily operations, overseeing our finances and facilities, teaching God's word, providing Biblical counseling, and supporting a wide range of pastoral needs. I love seeing our church family grow in Christ, encouraging and equipping our staff, teaching the Bible, and helping ensure our vision and values shape every aspect of ministry. I had the privilege of training for ministry at Moody Bible Institute (Bachelor of Science in Ministry Leadership) and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Master of Theological Studies). I currently serve on the boards of Matthias Media USA, Brown Horse Projects, and Converge Mid-Atlantic and have previously served with the Moody Bible Institute Alumni Association and the C.S. Lewis Institute of Northeast Ohio. I’ve been married to my best friend, Sarah, since 2002, and we have three wonderful children. Marty Sweeney

Pastor of Ministry Training

Marty Sweeney

At Old North, I oversee ministry training. We aim to build biblical fellowship by joining people together to sit under God’s Word in groups, classes, and seminars. We want to encourage as much organic discipleship as possible by equipping people to read and reflect upon Scripture with others. Old North is a wonderful place to grow in our understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ so that we all, when together and when separate, bear fruit (Colossians 1:9-10), become more zealous for good works (Titus 2:14) and adorn the gospel (Titus 2:9). I grew up in Northeastern Ohio and attended Grove City College (B.S. Finance). After a short stint in the business world, I studied theology (M.Div.), married Abigail, became a youth minister and then a pastor at churches in Western Pennsylvania. In 2006, I started Matthias Media, a non-profit publishing ministry with its roots in Sydney, Australia. In 2009, Abby and I, along with our growing family, moved back to the Youngstown area. I have served at Old North since 2011. Serving with two ministries and with four active children, there is little time (or desire) for much else. But if I do have some spare time, I enjoy watching the Cleveland Indians or a history documentary, walking in the woods and figuring out ways to carry heavy objects.

Justin Knight

Associate Pastor of Adult Ministry

Justin Knight

My name is Justin Knight and I serve as the Associate Pastor of Adult Ministry at Old North Church. My responsibilities primarily include overseeing our Growth Groups, Midweek, Sunday School classes and Men’s Ministry. Old North has been a church home for my wife, Gaby, and I since 2022. What I love about Old North is the church’s centrality on Bible teaching and the emphasis on training people for ministry. I’m originally from Akron, OH. After high school I went to Cedarville University where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies. I came to Old North to participate in a 2-year apprenticeship program before serving in my current role. I am also taking classes online at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and working towards my Masters of Divinity. I am so thankful that the Lord has brought me here and has allowed to me to serve in this role. Rick Enlow

Pastor of Care & Connection

Rick Enlow

I oversee our Care Ministry which includes hospital and shut-in visitation, funerals, counseling, benevolent fund, prayer connection, and baptism. I also oversee our Connection Ministry which includes the Get to Know and Membership Matters classes, as well as our greeters, Connection Center workers, and ushers. I lead the overall process of guiding first-time guests in the assimilation process through church membership. I was born and raised and have always lived in the Valley. It is a great place to call home, and I am humbled to have the opportunity to share the Gospel and minister to my hometown. I received Christ as a preteen and have grown in a relationship with Him through His Word, along with the trials and tribulations of life. I have been part of Old North Church since 1979 and graduated from Canfield High School in 1987. My wife, Geri, and I have been married since 1990, and we have four children: Rebecca, Ricky, Shelby and Faith. I sensed the move into ministry after dealing with the deaths of two of our daughters, Shelby and Faith.

Kyle Hoffsmith

Kyle Hoffsmith

Hello, my name is Kyle Hoffsmith and I am the Pastor of Family Ministry at Old North Church. My wife Jenna and I have a daughter named Madeline and son named Benjamin. Jenna and I met at Millersville University in Pennsylvania. I have an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a master of divinity degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Family ministry is exciting as these years serve as the foundation for the rest of their lives. I am passionate about reminding students and their parents that true life is found in Jesus, teaching them how to read the Bible on their own, and breaking down generational barriers within the family of God. I also serve on the board of directors for the Center for Parent/Youth Understanding and host the Word in Youth Ministry Podcast where we encourage youth workers to teach the Bible to their students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, watching Philadelphia sports team, spending time with friends and family, playing table tennis, running, and eating ice cream. I look forward to seeing what God has in store for our youth ministry as we aim to be a student ministry that sees students come to Christ and become disciples who make more disciples. Reggie Seutia

Reggie Seutia

As the Pastor of Music Ministry, I get to shepherd the congregation through word-centered music, technology, and other creative expressions that align with the mission, vision and values of Old North Church. It is an absolute joy to be a part of leading and singing songs that exalt Jesus, build our faith and promote congregational singing. I have been married to my bff, Andrea, since 2005 and together we have 4 very fun and energetic boys, Corban, Micah, Tobiah and Benjamin. Originally a San Diego native, I traded my flip flops for snow boots and moved to Ohio to serve alongside the amazing servant-leadership of Old North. In my free time I enjoy anything with wife and kids, watching Netflix, historical documentaries, playing basketball, football, trail running, physical fitness in general, family worship and enjoying a big juicy burger as unto the Lord. Josiah Rios

As the Pastor to Middle School Ministry here at Old North Church, my primary responsibilities involve shepherding the students and families within that realm. This includes preaching and teaching the Bible, vision casting, leading and working with student volunteers, and helping everyone gaze at our Great Shepherd. I love seeing the Lord grab ahold of young, student hearts as they passionately share about their faith with others. I enjoy working with the middle school age because of the critical time of life they are in. This period of my life included several defining and challenging moments, which feeds my desire to come alongside those that are also struggling through this time in their life. I am passionate about helping students own their faith instead of renting it from their parents. I see student ministry as a family ministry, where the entire family is involved in raising and discipling the next generation. I previously served at Grace Church of Greater Akron where I earned my education and training at Moody Bible Institute (B.A. in Biblical Studies) and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (M.A. in Theological Studies). I am married to Grace, and we have two children: Liliana and Jedidiah. I enjoy being outside, playing disc golf and spike ball, and spending time with family. Bruce Chimani

Bruce Chimani

Hi, I’m Bruce Chimani, and I serve as the Pastor to College and Young Adults here at Old North Church. I lead The Bible Talks (TBT), our college ministry here at Old North, and I also serve our out of college young adults as they navigate life in that unique stage. The Bible Talks does significant gospel work at Youngstown State University, and we are convinced deeply that when people open God’s Word together and rely on His Spirit, real growth happens over time. Whether it’s through preaching, small group Bible studies, or one-to-one discipleship, my aim is to help young adults see Jesus clearly and follow Him faithfully.

I’m originally from Zimbabwe, where I earned a Bachelor of Sciences in Journalism and Media Studies from the National University of Science and Technology and worked as a correspondent for The Sunday News. Before moving to the U.S., I also had the privilege of serving in various pastoral roles in both Zimbabwe and South Africa—experiences that shaped my love for preaching, shepherding, and training others in ministry. I came to Old North in 2020 as a Ministry Apprentice and now continue to serve while working toward a Master of Divinity in Preaching and Pastoral Ministry at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I’m married to Brittany—who is far more gracious and grounded than I deserve—and we’re raising two joyful and energetic kids, Aneni and Itai. When I’m not opening the Bible with young adults, you’ll probably find me overanalyzing coffee beans or burr grinders, passionately defending the air fryer as the pinnacle of modern engineering or mourning another baffling Manchester United performance in the English Premier League (soccer). Some here at Old North call me a coffee snob, but I’m just trying to glorify God in every cup. As the Women’s Ministry Director, I have the joy and privilege of welcoming women into our church family. I am married to Matt and we have four children, Ella, Ben, Kate and Lucy. I graduated from Taylor University with a degree in communications and from Butler University with a degree in school counseling. It is my great joy and pleasure to further Old North’s vision of being a Christ-centered multi-generational community of disciple-making disciples. Through our Bible studies, book meetings, fellowship gatherings, and other events, we focus on strong theological teaching with multi-generational groups and encourage outward expressions of that knowledge. We want to be other person centered Christ followers in our homes, our communities and our workplaces. I grew up on a hog farm in Illinois but have now come to know and love Youngstown as my home. I really do look forward to getting to know you, your story, and the ways in which God will use you to accomplish his purposes. Joanna Munoz

Joanna Munoz

“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17) This is so true of my life. I came to Christ when I was young, and it was after hearing the Word of God many times. Since then, God has used His Word to strengthen my faith in who He is and what He will do in my life. My prayer and hope is to encourage kids to know God’s Word so they can personally know Him.

When I was a senior in high school, I was asked to be a teacher’s assistant in an elementary classroom. I soon realized that I really enjoyed teaching kids. After receiving a degree in Elementary Education and a master’s in Personnel Services, I finally was able to teach in a formal classroom. During my summers, I would venture off and visit missionaries, which gave me a passion for missionaries and their work on the field. For two years, I was given the opportunity to teach the kids of a medical mission team in Cameroon, West Africa.

Obed and I married in 2009, and we had four kids soon after – Livia and Micah (twins), Lily, and Laiyla, who are in middle school and high school. We moved here to Ohio from San Antonio, TX in 2021 and we have so enjoyed getting to know the people here, especially at Old North Church!

Teaching kids to follow Jesus is a mission I love – and then to work alongside parents and volunteers with grace and truth is even better! Please pray with me that the kids at Old North Church will grow to love God’s Word!
