In Compass Kids, we believe each child is a gift from God and we take that seriously as we welcome kids into the children’s ministry department with the conviction of pointing them to Christ. The Bible is clear that parents are to be the primary spiritual leaders in the lives of their children and we want to do everything we can as a church to encourage, empower, and equip parents in this role. We come alongside the parents as we help to provide a strong foundation for kids by sharing Bible stories with them while teaching them the importance of making the decision to become a fully-devoted follower of Christ. Our volunteers are key in the success of what happens in Compass Kids, as they demonstrate through their actions and through their relationships with the children what it means to follow Christ.
In Compass Kids, we strive to help transform the lives of our kids as they understand who Christ is, how they need Him as their Savior, and how they are commanded to follow Him. God continues to bless us with children at Old North. Ministry is not about the multitudes, it is about individuals; it is not about programs, it is about people. And it’s about demonstrating to our children the importance of establishing a relationship with Christ so they will someday say, “Yes,” to Him as they want to follow Him and live for Him.
In Middle School we pray that students will come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord and become disciples that make disciples, and that happens when students GET WITH CHRIST, GROW IN CHRIST and GO SERVE LIKE CHRIST. For middle school students it is important they understand the Bible is true, they learn who they are in Christ and how to live for Christ.
If you have any questions Pastor Kyle on Sunday at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There are lots of opportunities to meet new people, grow in your walk, and serve. We offer classes on Sunday mornings @ 9:15 & 11AM, Growth Groups on Wednesdays and throughout the week (September through May), and various women’s and men’s Bible studies during the week.
The aim of adult ministry at ONC is to create as many disciple-making contexts as possible to foster as many mature Christians as possible. We believe discipleship is the growth in biblical conviction, godly character & ministry competency through God’s Word and with God’s people. As a group of unified disciples, we strive to speak God’s truth whenever and wherever we are able.
Old North womens ministry is an extension of Adult Ministries. Our programming follows that stated goal of gathering women with God’s people around God’s word. We offer weekly Bible studies, In-depth book discussions, Fellowship Dinners, and other opportunities towards that end. The hope is that all of our women would become consistent in Bible reading, active in prayer and engaged in the Old North community.
Below is a list of missionaries Old North supports internationally, nationally, and locally:
We’ve partnered with Upward Sports to use the power of sports to share the gospel and promote the discovery of Jesus in every community. Our program teaches faith, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
Faith – We have complete trust and confidence in the person and work of Jesus Christ. (John 14:5)
Integrity – We strive to be an organization known for being who we say we are, no matter who we are with. (2 Corinthians 8:21)
Quality – We strive to deliver quality, not just in product, but in our long-term partnerships. (Luke 10:27)
Teamwork – We work best together, believing the best in each other, desiring the best for each other, and expecting the best from each other. (Ephesians 4:16)
