AWANA PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION

AWANA VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION

In Kids Ministry, we believe each child is a gift from God and we take that seriously as we welcome kids into the children’s ministry department with the conviction of pointing them to Christ.  The Bible is clear that parents are to be the primary spiritual leaders in the lives of their children and we want to do everything we can as a church to encourage, empower, and equip parents in this role.  We come alongside the parents as we help to provide a strong foundation for kids by sharing Bible stories with them while teaching them the importance of making the decision to become a fully-devoted follower of Christ.  Our volunteers are key in the success of what happens in Kids Ministry, as they demonstrate through their actions and through their relationships with the children what it means to follow Christ.

  • Sunday school includes using the Gospel Project for Kids curriculum as we work through the entire Bible in a three-year period.  We do this through relationship building, Bible stories, lessons, songs, and activities while learning the truths of God’s word.
  • On Wednesday evenings during Awana, the kids are growing through their Bible memorization, council time, games, and activities.
  • Vacation Bible School is a week in the summer that is full of energy, fun, and growth where kids have the opportunity to hear the gospel presented in very intentional ways throughout the week of VBS.

In Kids Ministry, we strive to help transform the lives of our kids as they understand who Christ is, how they need Him as their Savior, and how they are commanded to follow Him.  God continues to bless us with children at Old North.  Ministry is not about the multitudes, it is about individuals; it is not about programs, it is about people.  And it’s about demonstrating to our children the importance of establishing a relationship with Christ so they will someday say, “Yes,” to Him as they want to follow Him and live for Him.
