Ever since the Israelites have moved into the promise land, they have been making a mess of things. They have come under attack from those outside of the land and from idolatry within the land. God has sent judges to remind the nation of His ultimate rule over them, yet Israel desires an earthly king. This class will work through the story of Israel desiring a human king yet still recognizing God as their ultimate King. How is Israel going to have a human king and still serve God as its king?
