AWANA PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION

AWANA VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION

In Compass Kids, we believe each child is a gift from God and we take that seriously as we welcome kids into the children’s ministry department with the conviction of pointing them to Christ.  The Bible is clear that parents are to be the primary spiritual leaders in the lives of their children and we want to do everything we can as a church to encourage, empower, and equip parents in this role.  We come alongside the parents as we help to provide a strong foundation for kids by sharing Bible stories with them while teaching them the importance of making the decision to become a fully-devoted follower of Christ.  Our volunteers are key in the success of what happens in Compass Kids, as they demonstrate through their actions and through their relationships with the children what it means to follow Christ.

  • Sunday school includes using the Gospel Project for Kids curriculum as we work through the entire Bible in a three-year period.  We do this through relationship building, Bible stories, lessons, songs, and activities while learning the truths of God’s word.
  • On Wednesday evenings during Awana, the kids are growing through their Bible memorization, council time, games, and activities.
  • Vacation Bible School is a week in the summer that is full of energy, fun, and growth where kids have the opportunity to hear the gospel presented in very intentional ways throughout the week of VBS.

In Compass Kids, we strive to help transform the lives of our kids as they understand who Christ is, how they need Him as their Savior, and how they are commanded to follow Him.  God continues to bless us with children at Old North.  Ministry is not about the multitudes, it is about individuals; it is not about programs, it is about people.  And it’s about demonstrating to our children the importance of establishing a relationship with Christ so they will someday say, “Yes,” to Him as they want to follow Him and live for Him.

BACK TO SCHOOL NEWSLETTER

Firehouse is for grades 5-8 and meets Sunday in the gym at 9:15 a.m. and Wednesday in the Firehouse Room at 6:30 p.m.

In Middle School we pray that students will come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord and become disciples that make disciples, and that happens when students GET WITH CHRIST, GROW IN CHRIST and GO SERVE LIKE CHRIST. For middle school students it is important they understand the Bible is true, they learn who they are in Christ and how to live for Christ.

If you have any questions talk to Pastor Shawn on Sunday or Wednesday or give him a call at 330-402-5660.

High School (9th-12th)

We desire to see our high school students grow in their relationship with Jesus and be equipped to thrive in high school and prepared for their next steps after graduation. We combine large group teaching, small group discussion, a variety of special events and intentional outreach activities to give a collection of venues for spiritual growth. We also have a team of students who serve in different ways within our youth group and in other areas of our church.
Our theme for the 2017-2018 school year is “Every Student, Every School.” We have over 20 high schools represented in our high school ministry and want to send our students out into these schools to influence their classmates and teachers with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
