TJ Hammar
Pastor of High School Ministries
TJ was married to his wife Tammy on November 10, 2001. They have a daughter Noelle and a son Joel. He began as Youth Director with the Old North Church of Canfield in January of 2000. A few months later, in July of 2000, he began fulltime as the Pastor of Youth Ministry, grades 7-12. Since then TJ’s been able to concentrate his focus serving now as the Pastor of High School Ministry, grades 9-12.
TJ's passion is Youth Ministry. This passion was planted in his heart at the age of 27 when God instantly healed his body and delivered him from drugs and alcohol. It was at that time God spoke to TJ that He was going to take him far away to receive training in the Word of God and teach him to hear His voice. TJ was able to serve as an intern Youth Pastor to the On-Campus Youth Group of Christ for the Nations and was a Nation Leader for Youth for the Nations, ministering to over 4,000 young people.
TJ received a degree in Practical Theology at Christ for the Nations Institute, Dallas, Texas and while serving at Old North he has achieved a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences from the College of Adult Distance Education Program at Dallas Baptist University.
TJ’s hobbies include: golf, snow skiing, basketball, rock climbing, playing paintball, riding his motorcycle and Jeep, watching Ohio State basketball/football and Pittsburgh Pens/Steelers, music and movies.
